NYC marathon 2012

Registration is open for the New York City Marathon! (Click HERE.)

Since I applied for the lottery in 2011, I am "grandfathered" in for the "get rejected three times then you're in" deal. HOPEFULLY I will not get in this year but will get to reapply and get an entry in either 2013 or 2014.  Anyone else applying? Are you hoping for entry this year or later on?

  3. I am waffling, since you can't defer till the following year now. I really wanted to get rejected two more times and run it in 2014.

  5. It's entirely possible that I'm wrong, but I thought NYRR got rid of the guaranteed entry after three rejections. No matter what, I hope you get picked this year!
I enter, but I plan to get entry through the 9+1 program :-)

  6. I always said if I did NY, I wanted to get in by qualifying. I almost did in 2009, missed it by 11 seconds. Then I got injured and was out for 18 months, then NY changed the qualifying times and now I'll never get in that way. But that said, I don't think I could ever afford the $255 entry fee they raised it to this year plus all the travel expenses. ugh.
